Falling through
Aura's POV
I tried to focus on who my captor was. He was tall, about my height. Finally, after a few days, he revealed himself.
Marcus.
"How are you still alive?" I asked. Tears welled up in my eyes as more memories of us as children came back. The memory of his death. "Easy. I was rebuilt, and now I have more memories than ever." He grabbed my chin and held it up. "Now, we'll rebuild you. Starting with this." He stuck a needle in my arm. I lost conciousness soon after.
Chase's POV
The search for Aura was relentless. We sent out search parties and tried to trace the last location of her chip. A few days after she disappeared, we got a signal from two bionic chips. I couldn't trace either, but now we had a location. The team left for the location soon after we found it. When we got there, it was a warehouse. I did a scan and found giant heaps of metal and two chips. We walked in. It was dark, and it took us a minute to find the light switch. In the corner was a giant table with Aura on it. Next to it was a tray for medical equipment. I ran over to Aura. Her hair was now candy red and her eye was back. Her arms were strapped down and prep for surgery was on her left arm. Her eyes fluttered open. The one where the eyepatch had been was bright red. I went to work cutting the metal. She grabbed my arm once I'd gotten it free. "He took my bionics, Chase.
They're gone."
"I know. When we get you back, we might be able to convert the old chip into a new one for your neck or something." She was crying now. I hugged her and helped her up. Her nightclothes were ripped some and her arms were covered in scratches. "We have to leave. There are two other bionics in here."
"Not so fast, sis. We have more business to take care of." Marcus stepped out of the shadows. "I'm the only bionic here. You scanned wrong. Figures, your bionics are outdated." He smirked. "That'll just make it easier to kill you for what you did to her." He smiled even wider. "Did to her? All I did was fix her eye. You're welcome for that, sis. We're not even close to being done, though." He stepped forward. He raised his hand into a plasma ball. He threw it at me and I crumpled. Aura fell down but stood quickly. "This is between me and you, Marcus. Leave them out of this." She growled. He smirked and held out his hands. "But that wouldn't be any fun, would it?" He blasted Bree and Adam. Leo tried to attack him from behind but got blasted too. I tried to stand. He hit me with another plasma ball, and I blacked out.
Aura's POV
Marcus and I circled around. He started throwing plasma balls, but I was too quick. I dodged them swiftly. He scowled and charged. I blocked him and grabbed him arm. I spun him and threw him into a pile of cynlinders. He got up quickly and charged again. This time he used his super speed to boost him and he caught my arm. He pressed down on the inside, near my shoulder. I cried out in pain. It didn't last long though, because soon I felt the warmth inside me.
Molecular overload.
I didn't know how it was possible, but it gave me a boost. I quickly spun him around, reversing the attack towards him. "Come on, sis. Is that all you got?" I snarled and punched him in the jaw. He put his hand to it and gaped. I felt powered up, and I tried to activate my abilities. My hair caught on fire, complimenting the new red color. My left hand powered up. I rammed it into his chest, knocking him back 20 feet. He landed in another pile of cylinders with a loud thud. He looked at me wide eyed. "How did you..? I took out your bionics?" he asked, scared. "You failed." With that, I pressed my hands to the ground. It rumbled and shook. A blast of rocks encased Marcus and the entire building shook. A few rafters fell. Marcus pounded on the rock. "Not funny, Aura!" He yelled. I laughed and the team started waking up. Bree and I supersped everyone out of the building. I carried Chase out. Leo and Adam woke up pretty fast. Chase took more time to wake up. Just as he woke up, I remembered Marcus. "I'm going back in for him. He may be terrible, but I can't let him die again." Chase grabbed my arm. "You can't. The building is falling." I shook my head and raced in. I used my Atomic Manipulation to split the rocks. I quickly hit Marcus on the head to knock him out. I grabbed him and ran out. Just before I got to the exit, the building's entrance fell. I threw Marcus out just before a beam fell on top of me.
I felt like I was falling. I ripped through a thin cloth and fell into a deep darkness. I realised I was dreaming. Maybe dead.
Chase's POV
I was crushed. Not literally, like Aura was, but my heart just stopped. "Aura!" I screamed out. Bree held me back as I tried running in there. "You can't help her now. We have to go back to the academy." I screamed in frustration and let her superspeed us back to the hydroloop. We tied up Marcus and set him down. We all sat down in the hydroloop. We all were worn out and grim-looking. We'd been sent on a mission to find Aura. We found her, then lost her.
This time for good.
