Chapter 7
We were sent to the pre-booked hotel by the car. After we reached the hotel boss called us and told about the arrangements. It will be one hour drive from the hotel to the mansion. Though it still sounds chilling, the fact we are here for it we couldn't stop at all. After checking in we went to the restaurant on the ground floor.
"What should we do now? We have came so far but now that we are here it can feel chill in my heart" Sunita said. She made a scared face. She must be thinking about Terra Vera.
"What do you mean by what we should do? Of course we have to do why we came here ik the first place" Monica replied. With Monica and I three more people came on this mission. Sunita, Kaushal and Ronit. It's good that atleast two man are here with us. Though Kaushal is a Playboy with ruined character, but he will be great help on this mission.
"Monica are you really serious about it? I mean people avoid that place even in daylight. Can we really go there at night?" Sunita asked.
"We have to do it. This way or another, whatever it is we can't stop now. Can you believe we are just few miles away from that hunted place. Do you want to stop now? We have already wested money and if we go back empty handed then it's nothing but a failure" Monica replied.
"But that place is not normal one. There are too many risk" Ronit sighed.
"To achieve something we have to take the risk" Suddenly Kaushal said. He tapped the table, "well, I am very much excited about this task anyway. I have heard there are many precious things in the mansion. We can also search for it there. Besides no one will notice it" he smirked.
I frowned at his attitude. What is he implying? This man is not only notorious but also greedy.
"This is not the place to say such thing" Ronit glared at him.
"Oh come on Ronit. You don't know how precious those things could be. Just think about it. If we could get it then it will be double benifit for us" Kaushal smiled.
"Shut up Kaushal. We are here to collect evidence not to become a robber" Monica scolded him. "So I was saying we should start from tonight"
"Tonight?" Sunita gasped.
"I think it's not a good idea" I told her.
"Nandini you too?" Monica frowned.
"Heat me out first. What I want to say is we are here for the first time. So before we start we need to make familiar with the places around. It may help us in this mission. And another thing I think before we start investigation, it will be better to check the place first. Why don't we go tomorrow to Terra Vera first than plan how to start the investigation?" I suggested.
"Okay, no problem " Monica nodded.
"I guess that's a good idea" Sunita replied.
"Cool. We can rest for today then tomorrow morning we will head towards the destination" Ronit added. We all aggreed and went back to our room. Monica and I had a room next to each other while others are little far from us.
The rest of the night I thought about Terra Vera. Since I started working in this magazine company, this is the first project I am scared about. I never engaged with such scary matter and Terra Vera is really scaring the hell out of me. Next morning after breakfast we went to the Terra Vera mension. The discarded mansion looked ghostly as we stood outside looking at the mansion.
"This is the discarded mansion?" Sunita asked with slightly trembling voice. "God, it looks more dangerous than the rumours. Are we still going inside?"
"Yeah, I want to meet Dolce and wanted to see her personally. How beautiful she could be to be killed so brutally?" Kaushal said making us looked at him.
"Can't you think anything other than that stupid mind of yours?" Monica glared.
"I fear even before you had the chance to see her personally you will become his companion as a ghost" I told him.
"Come on girls, you can't be serious. Those are just rumours. You can't believe everything you heard. No one has seen what actually happened in that mansion" Kaushal rolled his eyes.
"There are things you should believe even if you don't want" Monica frowned. "Besides the way rumours said everything looks exactly the same"
"Guys instead of arguing we should decide what we want to do now. Shall we go inside or return back" Ronit said.
"Of course we are going in. That fucking promotion is waiting for us. I don't know about others but I won't be giving up on this" Kaushal said frustratedly then walked towards the mansion.
"What the hell why he is going like this?" Monica exclaimed in anger.
"No matter what we can't leave him alone in that hunted place. Let's go in and leave before the sunset" I said and everyone nodded. Slowly we followed in but we couldn't find Kaushal at all.
"Where did he go? He was just walking infront" Ronit said looking around.
Suddenly Sunita stopped and she gulped down hardly, "guys I felt like someone walked pass me" her forehead was sweaty as she said.
"There was no one behind you Sunita. You are scared so you are imagining things" I told her. "Let's find Kaushal then leave this place as fast as we could"
As we moved insude the old ruined house we can see some furniture which was covered under the dust and too shabby to look. Cobwebs has covered the ceiling, worn out windows and the door which looked like about to fall any moment.
"God is this really hunted? It more looked like this place is just another place fell in bad luck" Sunita said as she looked around.
"Wait that's the piano isn't it?" Monica pointed towards the large dusted piano.
"It must be a drawing room then" I walked towards the old piano. Dust has covered the feature making it almost invisible. Sunlight was cracking in through the worn-out window frame. The glass were broken and the place screams sadness and pain. It was said this house was gifted by their father. This house also stands for father's love and affection where the two unmarried sisters lived almost all their life before the tragedy took place. The one fine beautiful gift has become deserted now. My chain of thoughts ruined when I heard Sunita screamed. I was startled and turned around only to see Kaushal was laughing hard.
"That's not funny Kaushal" Ronit frowned. "Why the hell you did that?"
"Come on I wanted to tell you that there's nothing like spirit and all" Kaushal rolled his eyes. "Now you can see the reality " he opened his arms, "can you see a ghost here?"
Monica sighed, "lets click some pictures of this place first. Whether it's ghosted or not we must get out of this place before the sunset. I have decided that it's better to work in daylight instead of night. Besides we still have take an hour journey to reach the hotel"
"Okay" we agreed and started to roam around. We gathered some pictures which no one ever seen before. We even saw the rooms where the two sister used to stay. Their kitchen and all the furnitures left behind. While working we are not aware of the time. I was checking in the room when I felt foot steps behind me. I turned around and saw Kaushal standing with his phone torchlight.
"Why are you here?" I frowned.
"Everyone is in the hall but couldn't find you so I came here to check"
"Fine, leys go back then" I said as I started fell uncomfortable around his gaze. As I tried to walk pass him he suddenly grabbed my arm.
"Wait, they are busy with work. Till then why don't we have little fun here?"
I glared at him, "what the hell do you think you are doing?" I tried to shove his hand away but he was too strong.
"Come on Nandini, don't behave like all virgin innocent now. We are all adults and sex is just enjoyment" he gave a lustful smile, "besides you are always alone. Why are you wasting your time and beauty like this?"
"Shut up. You are too much Kaushal. Go find those girls who want to do it with you. I have no interest in you bastard" I shoved him away and ran. Before I could call for help he caught me and covered my mouth and pulled me back into the room. It was far from where others are standing. I can see the compound of the house and the fences were torn. And there's only forest behind.
I struggled to free myself. I bite his hand which was covering my mouth and he let go of me.
"Fuck you bitch. You dared to bite me?" He glared at me. I know he won't let me go back to others. And even if I scream it wil take time for them to arrive. Without thinking I ran towards the compound.
"Where are you running?" I heard Kaushal shouted behind me. Then I heard his footsteps. I increased my pace but my foot caught into something which made me stumbled and fell on the ground.
"Where do you think you were going?" Kaushal laughed. "Now others couldn't hear you even if you scream" he said and grabbed my leg.
"Let me go" I yelled and kicked his chest with my other leg. He fell on the floor and I tried to get up. But that bastard was fast and tackled me down on the ground again.
"Let me go" I screamed and tried to push him away. Suddenly with a whoosh sound the air around started to cool down. Sudden chill ran down in my body and I felt the familiar feeling of him.
He is here.
Kaushal 's body fell back far from me. It was like he was snatched away. He groaned and when he looked above he looked so scared like he was about to pee in his pants. Frowning when I turned my head to look behind me. The scene infront of me shocked me to the core.
