THE NIGHT WAS COLD, NIPPING AT YOUR SKIN.
you shiver, "fuck me.. it's bloody cold"
you sit up from your bed, checking the time on your watch.
'4:32am'
you groan,
shit, it's early
you sigh, wiping your eyes from sleep and getting up, heading for your cupboard.
you swing the doors open, scanning each of your clothes.
you huff,
no jumpers? seriously? i swear i had like five in there last night
you roll your eyes, shaking your head.
rubbing your neck, you exit your room and creep as silently as you could over to your parents room.
if these fuckers catch me, i'm so dead
you hold your breath, pushing the door open as silently as you could.
you freeze as the door creaks, listening closely for any movement.
hearing nothing, you breath a quiet sigh of relief, slipping in.
your eyes go straight for the bed, you pause.
it was empty.
shit.
you freeze up as a cold hand is placed on your shoulder.
you look back, gulping thickly.
it was your mum. her eyes were wide and scary, her grip viscously tight.
you cough nervously, "m-mum..."
"what are you doing out of bed?"
her voice was strained and hoarse.
you open your mouth, trying to explain, only to find she was no longer there.
your eyes go wide.
"[name].." a deep voice calls, a clock chimes in the background.
you exit the room, your stomach filling with dread.
you suddenly fall to the ground, smacking your nose on the tiles.
you look back, seeing your father standing over you.
"your fault"
"it's your fault" your mothers voice chimes in.
"you killed her"
"you killed your sister"
"your fault"
"your fault"
your eyes shake as you tremble.
"no.. no.. i.. i-it wasn't-"
"your fault!"
"your fault!"
the voices get louder, more terrifying.
you tremble on the ground, cheeks wet with tears, hugging your legs to your chest.
the voices get closer.
right behind you.
in your ear.
you scream, clutching your ears.
you shoot up from your bed, black tears streaming down your face from the mascara you weren't bothered to wipe off the previous night.
after collecting yourself, you wipe your mascara off using the back of your hand.
you rub your eyes, sighing heavily.
another nightmare
you shake your head, glancing at your wrist.
it was purple and bruised in different spots, leaving it painful to raise.
you frown,
i'm running out of foundation. i'll have to buy more later
you sigh, getting out of bed again.
"wake up!!" your mother knocks heavily on your door.
"i'm awake!" you shout.
"lose that attitude young lady!"
you roll your eyes, grabbing your foundation and starting to cover up any bruises over your body.
after you were done that, you checked your nails.
good.
your black nail polish was still slick and un-chipped.
you click your tongue, begrudgingly grabbing your eyeliner and mascara.
you were starting at a new school today.
due to your fathers new job, you had all been forced to move from australia to hawkins indiana. you hate about 90% of americans. most of them are dumb as shit. some are chill though.
the whole place of hawkins gave you the chills. only about two years ago a boy went missing and was claimed dead, but turns out he wasn't.
and at the same time another girl died. and only recently, another boy died. apparently in a mall fire.
you were more than annoyed to move here, you had friends back where you lived.
though they weren't great, they were something.
"hurry your ass up! i can't have you late on your first day!" your mother shouts furiously.
"yeah, yeah! i'm nearly ready!" you shout back, finishing up your mascara.
you grab an outfit from your cupboard, a black, cropped spaghetti strap tube-top, some ripped baggy jeans, fish nets and a black jacket, quickly getting dressed.
you slip on some rings and grab your boots from beside your door, quickly doing the laces.
you brush your hair out, leaving it down and hurrying out of your room.
"took you long enough!" your mother scoffs.
"since you took so long, you're not getting breakfast. you can eat nothing or something at school. but don't ask me for anything"
you sigh, "right, whatever"
you go to walk away, but your mother grips your wrist tight, you hiss in pain.
"i would advise not getting attitude with me, missy. i'll get your father. you know i will"
you freeze, gulping with a shaky nod.
she lets go of your wrist, you hurry out of the house, rubbing your sore wrist.
