THE END OF TERM HAD LANDED AGAIN, AND YOU WERE CURRENTLY OCCUPYING A TRAIN CART WITH HARRY AND RON.

hermione was off god knows where, grumbling and moaning about ron, and as much as you could *somewhat* sympathise with her, you wished to save yourself the headache.

well, that lasted for all of two seconds until harry started telling you both about something he heard snape talking about. an 'unbreakable vow', was it?

you don't know what it means, but you're sure it's in the name.

"'unbreakable vow'. you're sure that's what snape said?" ron questions.

"positive. why?"

"well.. it's just you can't break an unbreakable vow"

"shocker that" you murmur through a deadpan.

"i'd worked that much out for myself, funnily enough" harry arches a brow in agreement.

"you don't understand" ron says, but his attention is captured by a bubble lavender strolling up to the door.

"oh, bloody hell" he murmurs. as of late he had actually been complaining about the female's attention.

the audacity he had on him, honestly.

lavender breathed all over the window, her breath fogging up the cold glass.

ron gave a half-hearted grin as she began to draw a heart, writing 'R + L' inside and concluded with an arrow piercing the heart as harry fiddled awkwardly with the seat and you just stared at her through a deadpan.

"i miss you" she mouthed.

"yeah, i'm out of here" you say with a frown, standing at once and swinging open the door, brushing passed a startled lavender as she yelped slightly.

ron turns to harry, raising a brow. "what's been up with her lately? she's all moody and that. you don't think she's on her period?" he grimaces at once.

harry deadpans, "i think periods come more than once a year. and i dunno.. maybe it's the weather?" he suggested, though he knew his words were entirely off.

neither of them knew what had happened, but as of late you'd been progressively quieter and more reserved. you had began snapping more and just being overall ansty, but honestly the both of them were too scared to say anything.

meanwhile, you brush through the hallways, ducking your head to exit the door that led to the small area of outdoors at the end of the train.

you lean over the railing, breathing in the cool, crisp air of the morning.

snow decorated the grounds and the air was full of fog, the cold air biting almost peacefully at your skin.

honestly, you didn't know either why you had been so pent up as of late.

well, you do know, but you just don't want to admit it.

in truth, you're feeling the most homesick you had since landing here six years ago.

it's honestly ridiculous to think of how fast the time has passed and how long you've been away from your family and true life. it had been six years since you'd fought a demon, and six years since you've seen your brother.

last time he saw you, you were a puny eleven year old. now, you were seventeen years old and basically a woman. you've experienced and seen so much since you were sent away, and you didn't even know how to think about getting home.

could you get home?

was it even possible?

if a demon had sent you here, wouldn't it mean demon would have to send you back? clearly, that was a problem.

your stomach churns painfully at the thought. sure, you had been here six years already, but being here for the rest of your life?

you hadn't said goodbye. not to anyone.

you hadn't hugged your brother. hadn't shared hugs with everyone you considered close friends.

did they even remember you at this point?

in fact, had it even been six years for them?

after all, you were in the future, and at that an entirely different universe. had time even passed at all?

if you were to return, would it be only moments after the demon took you in the first place?

then, would you still be seventeen, or would you revert back to eleven? would you have to live through these years again an entirely changed person?

you had experienced and seen things you never would have imagined.

here, magic is real, not just a myth or some form of blood demon art.

here, you were just another student, just trudging through your years of schooling.

not one person here (safe for lupin and sirius), knew of what you had experienced before coming here. knew that you don't belong here.

not one of them. not harry, nor ron, nor hermione.

not one of the weasleys, no matter how much they had become your second family in these years.

how were you even supposed to tell them?

surprise! i'm not even from this universe and that's why i landed on your doorstep six years ago!

lupin and sirius were easy. you knew from their sounds that they understood more than the typical person, that they could see passed what was right in front of them.

not that you thought the others would judge you for being from another universe, but you wouldn't be surprised if they didn't understand, or if they were offended. after all, you'd been living with and friends with them for six entire years and had barely shared scraps of your story, only mentions of your brother and previous wedlock.

your life had so much more to it than any of them knew.

but you knew that one day, one day sooner than you'd like, you'd have to tell them.

the final battle of the wizarding world was drawing near and you know it. you can feel it in the air, in the sounds of every witch and wizard you come past.

it's only a matter of months, at this point, before shit really goes down.

and by the time that comes, you hope to be long gone.

selfish, you might call it. weak, even.

but honestly? you don't care.

you're confident that they can win. that harry can defeat voldemort.

they don't need you here.

and for once, you have to think of what you need.

and what you need is to return home. to see your family and friends.

to be whole again.
