29 Clearance
Part 29 Clearance
Everyone was standing like a statue, looking at Arnav and Khushi who were heading to Arnav's room. They glanced at one another, and could do nothing.
Buaji looked at Nani and said,
"We are leaving, Devyaniji"
"Don't know what to say... please forgive us, Madhumathiji... I apologize to you on behalf of Chotte" Nani said feeling helpless.
"Haan Buaji, forgive us. Khushiji is our responsibility. We will take care of her" Anjali said.
Akash came forward again.
"Uncle, my Bhai talks rudely but he never gives up on his beloved one. Trust me he will look after Khushiji like anything. She will be happy and you will see that"
Shashi gave a nod and Guptas left RM.
Raizadas retired to their respective rooms feeling helpless. Payal stood with teary eyes. Akash looked at her face and understood her state.
"Payalji, everything will be all right"
"Why did you give me the flower petals in my hands and make me shower them on Arnavji and Khushi, Akashji? He forced my sister taking my wedding as the reason. How did he do that?"
"No, Payal... I'm sure my brother would not have done that. I know my Bhai. He would have a reason to marry Khushi. We will soon get to know that" Akash said.
Even though he guessed the reason he didn't tell that to Payal because without making sure of it, he didn't want to talk about it.
"He himself told he forced Khushi"
"Wait, Payal... Khushi is your sister. Talk to her and then conclude"
Payal became silent. Akash was right. She would talk to Khushi. She wanted to know what exactly happened and what Arnav said.
............
Arnav came to his room with Khushi and closed the door. He saw Khushi looking at him. He smiled fondly.
"I'm sorry, Arnavji... because of me..."
"Shhh... marrying you is full and full of my decision. I should handle it and I'm doing that"
"Arnavji, what Shyamji said is not true. He lied. I didn't talk to him like what he said" she said with teary eyes.
"I know... I saw you in his arms and heard what he said about his relationship with Di. I know you are not wrong"
In no time, Khushi cried her heart out, closing her face with her palm. Arnav tapped her shoulder gently.
"I'm sorry Khushi, I married you hurriedly"
Khushi looked at him perplexed.
"I witnessed Shyam turning the table in the blink of an eye without caring about anything. He is a very dangerous man than I thought. He will do anything to save himself. I understood that he won't mind showing you wrong in other's eyes if we give him a chance. I don't want to give him such a chance. He will try to stop our wedding in every way possible if we go for a ceremonial marriage. He will get enough time to do that. He will keep on trying to frame something against you. Just think one thing, what would have happened if anyone other than me had seen you in his arms?" he stopped and gulped down. Khushi was horrified.
"Do you think, people would have trusted you over his drama?"
Khushi nodded no hurriedly.
"Shyam would not have let people trust you. He would have blamed you just like, he did on the terrace. I didn't want it to happen. That's why I married you right away" he clearly stated why he married her right away.
She wiped her tears.
"Why did you put all the blame on you, Arnavji? Can't you just reveal Shyamji?"
"Di is pregnant. She is so weak. She would not stand the shock about Shyam... that's why I'm tolerating him in RM. I will throw him out if the child became firm in her womb. I don't care about what people think about me. Most of them knew me very well. They will be angry with me for a few days and will become normal. But you should be careful... don't spill the beans to anyone and maintain what I said"
She nodded ok.
"Khushiiii..."
She looked at him.
"Are you upset with me?"
She nodded no without thinking.
"I'm sorry... I didn't know what to do. My mind didn't work seeing you in his arms. I needed some time to compose myself. That's why I..."
"Thank you so much for making such a decision, Arnavji. I don't know what others think about our wedding. In my opinion, this is a life-saving moment. What you said is true. If someone had seen me with him instead of you, I don't know what would have happened to me. I would have even killed myself"
"Shhh... it didn't happen. You don't need to think about it. I said, I trust you..."
"How did you trust me even after hearing me asking him to leave Anjaliji?" She asked hesitating.
"I trusted you because of your TONE. You didn't DEMAND it but uttered it with anger. Can't I differentiate it?"
Khushi nodded with teary eyes. It was undoubtedly happy tears. She didn't know Arnav could analyze things even in such a crucial situation. Her respect for Arnav became tenfold. She was happy to be his wife. No matter how their wedding happened... because the wedding is a wedding!
They heard a knock on the door. Khushi looked at Arnav. He opened the door and saw Anjali standing with a plate. A lehanga was kept on the plate.
"Change this dress, Khushiji... you should perform the GRAHA PRAVESH ritual"
"Di, you wanted us to take phares. We did... then why are you again torturing us?"
"Didn't you say you respect your wife? If it is true, do what I say"
She gave the plate to Khushi. Khushi looked at Arnav without taking it.
"See, this is what respect. She wants your permission to take this because she doesn't want to disappoint you but you are not even ready to fulfill your duty as a husband"
Taking the plate from Anajli's hand, Arnav gave it to Khushi. She took it from him.
"Khushiji, please come downstairs... with your husband"
Anjali was about to go, and Arnav clutched her hand. Anjali looked at his hand and then at his face.
"I respect my wife the same way I respect my sister. I will stand for my wife the same way I stand for my sister..." he said with a sharp look and left her hand.
"If I'm really important to you, how would you get married without my consent, Chotte?"
"I married Khushi because you are important to me no matter if I did that with or without your consent," he said.
"I didn't get you," Anjali said.
"Trust your brother and be relaxed, Di"
Anjali sighed and left the place not wanting to get more confused.
Khushi went to the washroom to change. When she came out, she didn't find Arnav there. How would he be there if he was in front of Shyam? Shyam looked at Arnav.
"Sale Sahib, Rani Sahiba is not here," Shyam said trying to be normal with Arnav.
"I'm not here to meet Di but a fox that is in the disguise of a goat" he spat fire through his eyes.
Shyam averted his gaze. In no time, Arnav clutched his collar.
"Dare you near my wife! I won't cut you off into pieces and bury you with no trace of your existence. I warn you... save your life being under my sister's feet... or else..." he pushed him with anger and walked out.
He stopped hearing, Akash calling him.
"Bhai..."
Arnav stopped and looked at him.
"What is all this, Bhai?"
"Shyam" Arnav replied in a word and that was enough for Akash to understand.
"Did he cross his limits?"
"I don't know how I let him be alive... he crossed his limit to that extent"
"I guessed it... I know he would have done something to trigger your anger. Bhai, why don't we do something to stop him COMPLETELY?"
"I'm also thinking of doing that. He should be watched closely. If he even took a wrong step, his chapter should be closed"
Akash nodded yes.
They heard Nani asking,
"Where is Chotte, Khushi bitiya?"
"Let's go Bhai"
Arnav nodded yes and walked to them. He was stunned to see Khushi in a red and green lehanga who was ready to perform Graha Pravesh ritual.
"Go to Khushiji, Bhai" Akash said.
Arnav went to Khushi and stood next to her.
Anjali circled the Thali and kept vermillion on their foreheads.
"Kick the rice kalash, Khushiji" Anjali said.
Khushi did that and looked at Anjali, like, WHAT NEXT?
"Chotte, pick Khushi bitiya in your arms and walk in," Nani said.
Arnav and Khushi looked at each other dumbfounded. She didn't know whether Arnav would perform the ritual, but in no time, Arnav lifted her in his arms and walked in. She looked at him all the way dumbfounded. He kept her down when he came in.
"Chotte, Wait here"
Anjali said and took Khushi to Arnav's room. When they came in, Anjali looked at Khushi.
"Khushiji, did Chotte really force you?" She asked restlessly.
Khushi was thunderstruck. Arnav didn't want her to spill the beans. The person who asked her about it was the main victim. Then how could she tell her the truth?
"Anjaliji, I'm happy that you do not completely trust what your brother said but I'm not in the position to say NO" she answered staying neutral without lying and also telling the truth.
Anjali sighed.
"Please trust Arnavji..." Khushi pleaded.
Anjali was confused. Khushi was not ready to say NO to her question. Yet, she wanted her to trust Arnav. What the heck! She didn't know what she meant.
To be continued...
