[ CHAPTER XLVI ]
"Queen Dowager?" Ehanya frowned. At such moment she wasn't expecting Somakshya to send her an invitation. "Why would she sent such invitation? Was there any particular reason?"
The maid who came with the invitation didn't stated anything clearly. "Your highness I was just asked to deliver the invitation. Other than that I am not aware of the matter. Please don't question me because I couldn't give any proper answer to your highness"
"It's fine, where does Queen Dowager want to meet?"
"At the back garden. I have already told the reason I am here. I should leave now" the maid gave a low how before leaving.
The little maid beside Ehanya looked at her, "your highness, are you going to meet her?"
"How can I refuse? It's the Queen Dowager after all. If I refuse the invitation it would be like disrespectful towards her honour" Ehanya got up, "let's leave now. I shouldn't waste time and make her wait for me" she started to walk but stopped and asked again, " how do I look? "
" You are beautiful as always your highness" the little maid replied.
" Let's go" Ehanya nodded and they left the room.
In the back garden Ehanya spoted a person's back sitting on the chair waiting. She took a breath before approaching. As she walked closer the view got clear and soon she realised the person waiting for her wasn't Queen Dowager but the person she hated to the core.
Nandini smiled sweetly, "oh, your highness you are here? Please have a sit"
Ehanya clenched her fist. Why it is her? Shouldn't she be died by now? How come her plan failed like this?
"Not sitting? Your highness, do you prefer to stand and talk? "
Ehanya sat down reluctantly, " where is Queen Dowager? "
" Oh, she was here few moments ago but got tired and left" Nandini replied casually pouring a cup of tea then pushed the cup towards her. "Why don't you sit for a while with me instead and relax a bit? You look tensed afterall"
Ehanya looked at the tea cup brimming with smoke. The red liquid was glossy in the white container. Her eyes stuck there for a long period.
"What happened your highness? Do you think that the tea has something in it? You should be assured, this tea is brewed with special tea leaves and it's also Queen Dowager's one of favourite flavour"
Ehanya looked up at the person smiling at her. Gritting her teeth she forced herself to speak, "what do you want to imply?"
"What can I imply?" Nandini asked, "I am just stating what you are thinking. It's not like everyone is skilled in poisoning another isn't it?"
The little maid standing behind Ehanya gasped. Her palms were sweaty and fear crossed her small face. Ehanya was also tensed. The matter of poisoning is really illicit subject and that it has brought up like this Ehanya started to feel that she was disclosed already.
" I don't understand what are you saying. If you don't have anything to speak other things than I should leave. I have no such time to waste on you" Ehanya pretended to be ignorant of the remark made by the other person and decided to escape the situation.
Nandini chuckled, " I was just saying. Why are you so eager to leave? Your highness have you done something bad recently? Oh talking about had things, do you know someone has plotted to kill me so viciously. I was so scared that I almost died" she clutched her chest, "I thought I couldn't see the the light of the next day"
Ehanya frowned, "what did you say?"
"You didn't hear? Since when you got the disease of hearing loss? You must take care of your health seriously and get yourself treated fast"
Ehanya clenched her fist. Insult after insult with such sweet and gentle tone. Now she regretted accepting the invitation. She knew that the name of the Queen Dowager was used only on surface but the main person who invited her was Nandini herself.
" Just tell me what you wanted to say" Ehanya gritted her teeth hissing the words out of her mouth.
Nandini leaned in looking at her deeply, " your highness why are you in such a hurry to leave? We haven't met for several days, why couldn't we just sit and chat for a while? Anyway since you wanted to leave so fast I shall be direct and shouldn't let you wait anymore. I just wanted to ask the thing that eating me with curiosity. Are you satisfied?"
That are you satisfied? Has something that struck in Ehanya's heart. For a moment she couldn't answer. What does she mean by Are you satisfied?
"What happened your highness? You haven't answered yet. You have gone so far thinking about it and plotting the perfect plan. I must appreciate your efforts. Aren't you satisfied yet?" Nandini smiled. But that smile was something different from the earlier one.
"Or are you regretting that your plan failed at the end?"
"What do you want?" Ehanya glared at her.
"Shouldn't I be the one asking you that question?" Nandini retorted back, " your length of planning is quite impressive. You even went far in plotting to kill me, do you think with that mindset of yours you can get the ultimate result? Or you have considered yourself as a no.1 schemer that couldn't be beaten at all? Surviving in Haveri is not that easy. You have already thrown your arrow and now it's my time" then a smile appeared on her, " do you want to see how a plotting looks like? I will bless you the chance" she got up and left.
Ehanya sat there looking bewildered. She don't know what happened suddenly that changed the situation so fast even before she can realise. The little maid beside her was even more tensed. With her trembling voice she called out, " your highness "
But sadly her mistress wasn't in the position to hear or reply.

"What happened?" Manik walked after the morning court and saw his wife's hand expression. He sat beside her, "you shouldn't tense yourself. Didn't you heard what Sihul said?"
"I am perfectly fine your majesty. You need not worry about it. At this moment I am thinking about something more important"
"More important? More important than the safety of yourself?" He frowned.
"Your majesty, there are more things to do. In the royal family I believe your majesty is aware of the things happening now. I have been prioritising the rules and tradition before but now I won't prefer it anymore. Before the child is born I need to clear everything that is going to become a thorn on the way"
"What's the dealing?" Manik's expression turned more serious. "I told you let me handle it myself. You shouldn't stress yourself thinking about it. You are pregnant now and all you need to do is take care of yourself"
"How can I rest? " Nandini shook her head, "whatever happening around is already messy. If this pregnancy news gets out then it will be more troublesome. There's also Mayurakshi, that black hearted witch"
"Don't tell me you are thinking about dealing with her now? You have been neglecting her all the time. Why suddenly you changed your mind?" Manik frowned.
"Because after the poisoning incident I realised that no matter how much I try to stay away they wouldn't let me. So before they have the chance to attack I must eliminate everything and clear the way. For the betterment of Haveri and it's future few sacrifices are needed to be done"
Manik let out a sigh. Seeing her expression he knows no matter how much he try to persuade her she wouldn't budge at all. That poisoning incident has left a deep scar in her mind.
"What are you thinking?" He asked.
She turned to him with a smile, "your majesty rest assured, you must not intervene in my matter"
The corner of Manik's lips tugged up. Why is that he was casted out by his wife suddenly? She don't even want to share her planning with him now?
"You can't just push me away like this dear wife. I am your husband and I have the right to know" he demanded.
"As far I remember I just divorced recently your majesty. I have no idea of my second marriage. So your majesty should mind the boundary and behave"
His jaw almost dropped on the floor. Not only he was casted away but now even lost the identity? What's happening around? How come the situation changed so suddenly?
"That—"
He was about to say but she stopped him at once, "I am busy so his majesty should go and review the memorandums"
Before he knew he was pushed out of the room. Ishank who was standing at the door got startled by the scene. His master stumble out of the room and almost fell on him. He pursed his lips and stood there watching his master.
Manik couldn't believe himself. He was just pushed out of the room by his wife. Disbelief clouded his face as he stared at the closed door. His mind was still buzzing and couldn't comprehend the situation at all.
